My Top 10 Recipes in 2018!

So, 2018 has been insane. I thought that was the best way to start this, because honestly? It really has. I never in a million years thought that this little ol’ blog would become MY FULL TIME JOB?! WHAT ON EARTH. Seriously, it’s mad.

I left my part-time Customer Service/Supermarket job back in February, so I haven’t actually been doing this full-time for even a year yet, but honestly… I am running with it whilst I can. After experiencing so many difficult personal things over the past few years, I decided to stick with the idea of ‘Do what makes you happy’, and at the moment, this blog is exactly that.

During 2018, I left actual employment to basically take a permanent risk with life, I got engaged to my now Fiancé, and have been happier than ever. I realise, this is extremely soppy and not a lot of you will care, but I genuinely am. Sure, there is an element of this that is nasty, the internet is what it is, but the other 99% of the time it is simply wonderful.

To be able to scroll through social media and see random people across the entire world commenting, liking, sharing and loving my recipes is just mad. To this day, it utterly blows my mind that this has come this far, and it’s still growing! This year I surpassed FIFTEEN MILLION views in total on my blog, from since it started. The even more insane cracker, is that I have been doing this for over four years now, and half of the 15 million, WAS JUST IN 2018! What in the actual…!

Anyway, as I do every year, (sort of, not really), I thought I would post my TOP 10 RECIPES IN 2018! I was debating how to do this… do I do I rank the 10 of out of recipes that have been published in 2018? Or do I rank it how it’s actually fallen, no matter the year of publication. I decided on the later as that’s how I did it last year, and it’s always fun to compare!

Here goes….

Number 10 – Gin & Tonic Drizzle Cake

This recipe was actually one of the first recipes to be posted on my blog in 2018, and it went a little crazy. I never expected it, otherwise I would have made more effort with the presentation! Otherwise, it’s a corker.

Number 9 – Salted Caramel Cheesecake

This beauty has always been a classic on my blog since posting, but popularity wise for the year it dropped two places from ranking 7th last year, to 9th! Honestly though, re-making it for new photos and a how-to video was clearly a success, as it was still such a popular post! Also, how good does it look?!

Number 8 – Terry’s Chocolate Orange Millionaires Shortbread

As a Christmas post for last year, I’m not surprised it was popular this year. Also, it’s still one of my favourites. What can I say?! I utterly adore all things Terry’s as you must all know by now! Honestly – this one went MENTAL on Facebook with my Video for it, and it’s insane. Who doesn’t love the idea of Orange Shortbread, topped with Homemade Caramel, and Terry’s Chocolate Orange heaven on top!

Number 7 – Salted Caramel Drip Cake

Falling only one place in popularity this year, my Salted Caramel Drip Cake has always been a popular one to share because it just always looks incredible. How can you not like the look of the oozey and GLORIOUS Caramel goodness on this beauty of a showstopper!

Number 6 – Caramel Rolo Cheesecake

I must say, that even though this beauty has come in at number six for this year, it is still my most popular post on this website of all time. It’s basically the recipe that made my blog what it is today, I named my Dog Rolo because of it (yeah I know, kinda weird but it stuck), and it’s always a crowd pleaser whenever I make it! It’s just delightful.

Number 5 – Biscoff Cheesecake

Technically this post was published way back in May 2015, but I honestly have made it so many times since. This year alone, I made it six time, and only once was for ‘work’ to film it. It’s the kind of recipe that if you love Biscoff, you will be obsessed with, just like my readers. It’s genuinely a ‘MUST BAKE AGAIN’ kinda recipe!

Number 4 – Oreo Drip Cake

This cake has always proven SO POPULAR online, even if I don’t post it that often! Mostly down to success on organic search results, and Pinterest hits, it’s consistently been in my top 10 since it’s been posted. It scored Number 3 last year, and even though I think the images are average as anything and all I want to do is replace them, you can’t argue with the stats. It’s Oreo heaven!

Number 3 – Terry’s Chocolate Orange Cheesecake

MY FAVOURITE RECIPE EVER is this beauty, and I am so happy it made the top three, as last year it ranked 5th!! Honestly, it’s my favourite recipe ever, and I have loved it ever since I posted it – technically it was in 2015, but its been four Christmas’ so WOW that’s a lot of chocolate oranges I have used up. I know there are now lots of other Chocolate Orange Cheesecake recipes out there, but trust in this one, it’s a beauty!

Number 2 – Kinder Bueno Cheesecake

This one has grown and grown, and been endlessly popular since posting – and this Christmas it was a big feature on peoples tables for a festive dessert! I recently re-made it, and I still love it just as much as when I originally posted it. Honestly, Kinder HEAVEN in every bite ever. Ever.

Number 1 – Malteser Millionaires Shortbread

WAS THIS ONE REALLY A SURPRISE TO ANYONE?! The capitals are important here, because it’s one of two posts published this year, that made it into the top ten.. and it completely surpassed any others to win the top spot. Literally, it’s statistics are double of the Kinder Bueno Cheesecake that’s in at number two. This one went insane on all my social media channels, and I really should remember that Maltesers are a damn popular thing to bake with!

Honestly – this year has been insane as I said. I have SO MANY PLANS for 2019 however, so hopefully they actually happen. More videos, more recipes, and even savoury bits! I want to expand this site even more, so I hope you guys enjoy the next year!
