My top 10 recipes of 2017!

So, 2017 has been a crazy year. I have seen my blog grow beyond any means I thought it could, and reach even more people then I ever thought it could. Seriously, over FIVE AND A HALF MILLION VIEWS?! In one year?! Jeeeeez my little brain can’t cope. I thought I would end the year by sharing my Top 10 Recipes that have been on my blog this year (Numbered by amount of views from top to bottom).

Number One – No-Bake Caramel Rolo Cheesecake

Caramel creamy cheesecake filling on top of a delicious buttery biscuit base drizzled with an extra bit of caramel and packed full of Rolo’s – A delicious dessert perfect for every occasion.

This recipe has been my most popular on my blog since it was posted. For some reason it shared and shared and has continued to do so! This little cheesecake is part of the reason I called my Dog Rolo… Not even lying. Everyone who has tried it has loved it, and its without a doubt one of my favourites.

Number Two – No-Bake Kinder Bueno Cheesecake

A Buttery Biscuit Base, Kinder Chocolate & Kinder Bueno Filling, Whipped Cream, Melted Chocolate, and even more Kinder Bueno! The PERFECT No-Bake Kinder Bueno Cheesecake!

I can understand why this treat is at number two… like my Rolo Cheesecake, its been a hit. Some people have said that the Kinder Bueno go a little soggy, but thats a natural thing. The flavour still comes through though, and its been particularly popular over Christmas. I like that the chocolate is melted Kinder Chocolate rather than just a normal Milk Chocolate, and I find it DELICIOUS.

Number Three – Oreo Drip Cake

A 3-layer Chocolate Cake, with Oreo Buttercream, a Chocolate Drip, and Even More Oreos Make a Delectable & Showstopping Oreo Drip Cake!

My most popular cake of the year, and you know… who can deny why. Its Oreos! Up to third from being my 18th most popular recipe last year, you can say Oreos have been a bit more popular on my blog. Drip Cakes have obviously been on the rise over the past couple of years, and so many of you have made this cake for special occasions this year. Thank you for making it a part of your year!

Number Four – Kinder Bueno Cupcakes

Light, Hazelnutty & Chocolatey Cupcakes, with Kinder Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, and Kinder Bueno make the most delicious Kinder Bueno Cupcakes ever!

Like my Kinder Bueno Cheesecake, the flavour of these come from the Kinder Chocolate. A lot of Kinder Cupcakes I have tried have Nutella Buttercream, which is delightfully delicious, but I wanted to try something a little different so I used the Kinder Chocolate melted for the buttercream, and it created a wonderful flavour. Chocolate Cupcakes with a Hazelnut hint, and then a Kinder Bueno piece on top make my most popular Cupcakes of the year!

Number Five – Salted Caramel Drip Cake

A Delicious, Dreamy, Sweet & Salty Cake that everyone will enjoy. A Salted Caramel Drip Cake to beat all others, the true showstopper!

Who doesn’t love Caramel? Honestly… its one of my favourite flavours. Add in some Salt, and OH MY DAYS. Honestly, I am not even slightly surprised that this recipe grew so much this year as its one of my absolute favourites that I have made myself many times already. The delicious Caramel drip, the Rolos on top, the Salted Caramel buttercream, and even more delicious with the naturally caramel sponge is HEAVEN.

Number Six – No-Bake Terry’s Chocolate Orange Cheesecake

Deliciously creamy No-Bake Terry’s Chocolate Orange Cheesecake perfect for Dessert and an Afternoon Treat!

MY FAVOURITE CHEESECAKE. Honestly, its my utter favourite. I got the chance to film this in a video with Cosmopolitan UK this year which was INSANE, and it just increased my love of it even more. Honestly, I do realise that the flavour combination of Chocolate and Orange isn’t everyones favourite, but I just adore it. Controversially, I don’t actually like all chocolate and orange combinations, but if its a Terry’s, I will always give it a try. And devour it.

Number Seven – No-Bake Salted Caramel Cheesecake

A delicious No-Bake Cheesecake packed full of a Salted Caramel creamy cheesecake filling with Pretzels & Popcorn! – A delicious dessert perfect for every occasion!

This is one I have kinda neglected this year personally, and seeing it at number seven of my list makes me realise I really shouldn’t have done. I adore the photography that I achieved on this post (its rare I like photos of a slice more than a photo of the cheesecake) but either way I did! Using Pretzels in the base was DELICIOUS, and I know I want to use Pretzels in more recipes now I re-read this recipe.

Number Eight – Mint Aero Rocky Road

Quick, Easy, and Delicious Mint Aero Rocky Road. Chocolate Traybake Filling with Biscuits and Oodles of Mint Aero Goodness!

Even though when I made this recipe I didn’t realise I didn’t have any marshmallows till the last minute, it still has been a hit since I posted it. I have made it myself several more times with marshmallows in, but either way it doesn’t stop the DELICIOUS Mint Aero Taste. Honestly, I feel like my love for Mint Aero has grown beyond measurability this year.

Number Nine – No-Bake Biscoff Cookie Butter Cheesecake

A delicious no-bake Biscoff cheesecake, with a Lotus base, sprinkled with more biscuits and whipped cream and a Biscoff drizzle.

Honestly, how can you not love Biscoff?? I literally adore it. Like, its delightful. I still discover so many people that have never tried it, and you are all missing out! Its sweet yet spicy, and utterly scrumptious. In Cheesecake form, you can use it in the base, in the filling with the spread, and decorating as well and its delightful.

Number Ten – No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake

Oreo base, Oreo cheesecake filling, Oreo decoration.. Oreo heaven!

I’ve always been quite surprised with how popular this recipe has been, as there are oh so many oreo cheesecake recipes out there. Thanks to my Pinterest page, this one spread very well this year, and I couldn’t resist making it a few times myself. It is sweet, but if you like Oreos, you will undoubtedly love this one.

Thank You!

These recipes as I have said are my top viewed in 2017, but I have so many plans for the future, and next year. I plan on obviously doing so many more sweet recipes, but I am also going to be venturing into the savoury, drinks, and maybe even some lifestyle and home posts.

I realise this isn’t perhaps what you are all expecting, but food is always going to bey favourite thing. I am 99% of the way to having my blog as my full-time career, so your continued support in baking my recipes is SO helpful!

If you have any recipe requests that are sweet, savoury, or anything else then please do post them below!

Hi Jane love all your recipes too and have tried a few, but especially loved the ice cream! Unfortunately I have hit a situation whereby my mixer died an untimely death so unfortunately I am between a rock and a hard place right now so can’t bake as we can’t afford another mixer. Nuff of my nonsense – just sharing my story!

Hi Jane, hope you’re well. I absolutely love your recipes. Especially your cheesecake recipes, they always go down amazingly with family. I was wondering if you could maybe share a stuffed cookie recipe, I don’t think you’ve posted one. And I really would like to try your version of them if possible. Thanks for sharing all your awesome recipes with us and wishing you a very happy and even more successful new year.

I absolutely love your recipes Jane! I made Millionaire’s Shortbread for the first time a couple of weeks ago using your recipe and it was my first time making caramel – it actually bloomin’ worked, no disasters! (I bet I won’t be able to do that again =P)

Malteser Tiffin, Millionaire’s Shortbread and Toffee Crisp Cheesecake went down a treat, and I just made my sisters some Bailey’s Fudge for Christmas which they love =D

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do in 2018 – your recipes are dangerous because I love making them so much, but please do carry on! <3

Love you bakes and non bakes Jane. Made your crunchie cheesecake as one dessert for Christmas day…..turned out lively. It’s quiet sweet and filling, just a little slice was enough after dinner but I went back for more later😀
Looking forward to seeing your new recipes in 2018.
    Happy new year

I’ve made a few of your recipes and they are very good. I know you need to make money from your blog but it’s so hard to visit now because of the plethora of adverts you have to wait to load and then navigate through to just see a recipe – shame

    • Jane's Patisserie on December 28, 2017 at 11:51 am

Unfortunately I need to be able to afford to run this blog, as it literally costs thousands every year to run, so it needs to be paid for. I don’t control where the adverts are placed.

I love your recipes SO much! The cheesecakes are always a huge success with my family. I do have a request though….. My Nan and Aunt are lacto free, and my cousin is vegetarian. I’ve been trying to make a lacto free cheesecake with veggie gelatin (I can’t get the lactofree on it’s own to set). I’m having difficulties, so a lactofree chocolate cheesecake would be my family nirvana!

    • Jane's Patisserie on December 29, 2017 at 4:39 pm

It’s something I am going to look into as I’m a bit new to lactose/dairy free things so I am going to be experimenting!
